A) Teak: Ranging in color from dark brown to yellowish-brown, it has mineral streaks that give it a contrasting grainy structure. The texture of teak is oily, and it is a strong and durable wood, which is resistant to warping and insects. This is a popular wood for making various types of furniture pieces. |

B) Segun wood: Segun wood is a long lusting wood. It is a solid wood. This is the most popular wood which is used to make strong internal and external structure. |

C) Local wood: Generally local wood is a cheap. It is not so strong as other and the finished product would of as premium quality as teak etc. |

D) Rubber wood: Rubber wood is commonly marketed under other, more attractive-sounding names, such as "Malaysian Oak" or "White Mahogany". Products made of rubber wood are a significant export for these countries; such products include toys, cutting boards, and furniture. Rubber wood is now advertised as an "environmentally friendly" wood, as it makes use of plantation trees that have already served a useful function. It has a notable tendency to warp, which can be kept under control (mostly) by applying pressure during drying. |

| PLYWOOD |

Plywood is one of the most widely used wood products. It is flammable, flexible, cheap, workable, recyclable, and can usually be locally manufactured. Plywood is made from thin layers of wood that are peeled from logs. These layers are then glued together, with the grain direction of each layer perpendicular to that of the next layer, to make plywood. There are always odd numbers of layers so that the sheet is balanced - this prevents warping. Because of the way plywood is bonded (with grains running against one another and with an odd number of composite parts) it is very hard to bend it perpendicular to the grain direction. A common reason for using plywood instead of plain wood is its resistance to cracking, shrinkage, twisting/warping, and its general high degree of strength. |

A) Marine plywood: Marine plywood Its construction is such that it can be used in environments where exposed to moisture for long periods. Each wood veneer will have negligible core gap, limiting the chance of trapping water in the plywood and hence providing a solid and stable glue bond. It uses an exterior Water Boiled Proof (WBP) glue similar to most exterior ply woods. Marine ply is 100% water proof and termite proof. |

B) Commercial Ply: Commercial ply mostly used in office furniture & the furniture less contact with water. It is partly water proof and termite proof . After veneer or laminate finish there is no deference in look. |

| MDF / BLOCK BOARD |

It is made up of separated fibers, (not wood veneers) but can be used as a building material similar in application to plywood. It is stronger and much more dense than normal particle board. A fairly recent development is flexible MDF sheets made by Bendy MDF. These are sheets scored with multiple slots so that the material can easily be formed into curved shapes and then fixed.
